Short Movie

The short movie a fictional story that has a beginning, middle, and end. 

The movies can be as short as 2:30 or as long as 6:00.
You may work with two other students.

Four people can create a PART 1 and PART 2 of a specific story (each segment must be 3:00 long).

• One twelve-shot sequence
• No Jump Cuts or Continuity Errors
• Full Script
• Two pages of full, professional-style storyboards
• Include title sequence, music, fade in/out, and credits
• Videos will be filled with sound effects and music as needed.
• At least one "song" will be created in Garageband.

1. What genre will you shoot? Action? Suspense? Comedy? A combination?
2. Describe at least three characters in great detail. Examples: age, hair color, personality traits, occupation, and disposition. What motivates your characters?

Name your file in the Output Name. 

Make sure you look where you are saving the file. 

Click Export
Find your project in the area you saved it on the computer.

Next, drop your video in the Vidstore Server. Don't forget to use the Naming Convention: 2-mitchellt-Sequence.

Click on desktop background
Select Go up top

Select Connect to server

Type Vidstore.shorelineschools.org    

Name: scvideo

Password: Outback23

Select SC Video classes

Place video proper class period.

2. Go back to your Camera Skills Sequence and add the following:

• Fade In/Out
• Title at beginning of video on Video 2 line over black background
• Title for each shot on Video 2 line
• Music underneath the video (lower the volume using the pen tool if needed)
• One special filter applied to one clip
• One clip slowed down to 75%

Importing Camera Skills Shots and Placing them into Adobe Premiere

Finish shooting your Camera Skills assignment.

Please make sure you have all of your Camera Skills shot correctly with proper composition and steadiness. All shots need to be in focus with the frame filled.

 Place your card in the SD slot behind the machine on the right hand side.
Import your clips to the computer using the Image Capture program. 

Open Image Capture

Select the clips you want to import

Make sure you know where you are saving your clips.

Change pictures to desktop or pictures in the lower left hand corner.

Click import

 Open Adobe Premiere CS6. It is in the Applications folder or you can search for it in the upper right had corner.
Create a New Project and name it Cameras Skills. Hit OK.

Then select the Digital SLR HD 1080p30 frames setting.

Go to Workspace and change the workspace to Editing 5.5.

File>Import your files into Premiere. Select on the clips you want to add to the timeline.

Place one clip into the Premiere timeline.

When Premiere asks you if you want to Match Sequence Settings to Clip Settings "Change sequence settings to match clip settings." You want to change sequence settings to match clip.

Watch the Tutorials below and then start placing your clips in the timeline.
Place the clips in the same order as on the Assignment Sheet.
You can trim clips by grabbing the front or back of a clip and dragging left or right.
You can divide a clip by hitting C and then clicking the area in the clip you want to divide.
Add titles for each clip. Command-T is the short cut to create titles (Apple-T).
Add a fade in at the beginning and a fade out at the end.

Video 1: Music Video Assignment

Music Video Assignment

Requirements:
Students will shoot a music video that is no shorter than 2:30 or longer than five minutes.
Music videos must have a concept, theme, or story.
Students may work with two other people, but everyone must edit their own version of the video.

Any lip syncing must be accurate.

Students must turn in a one-page typed treatment. 

Most videos have an interesting concept such as a fake TV show, a backwards video, a dance video, a live performance video, or simply an interesting story. 

Your treatment should explain in detail your concept and how you plan to make this concept come to life.

Please email me the answers to the treatment questions below using Canvas:
1. What is your story or concept in great detail? Don't forget big ideas, editing and shooting style etc. 

Your answer should be 4-5 sentences.
2. Who are you working with on this project (inside or outside of class)?
3. When will you shoot?
4. Do you need class time to shoot?
5. What song are you using? How long is the song?
6. What props or costumes will you use?


Videos must have one at least one eight-shot sequence.
Storyboards of the video are required.

Videos shots must use proper technique discussed in class: good headroom, proper white-balance, leading the subject, focus, and steadiness. Grading of these shots will be more difficult than the last project.

Students will have class time to shoot on October 18th and October 20th.

 You will need permission from parents if you want to shoot off campus.
